July is one of my favorite months because I love Independence Day, I love the birthdays of some special people this month, and I love celebrating my wedding anniversary. So, this year, Steve and I are announcing a super cool giveaway contest, and we’ll announce the winner on our 38th wedding anniversary, July 18. I know…how is it possible that we’ve been married 38 years? I mean, we still look like twenty-somethings, right? Wait, why are you laughing?
But look, now that summer is in full swing, you really should be outdoors on the regular, on the water or a beautiful trail somewhere, enjoying all that our beautiful state has to offer. And we’ve got just the thing to help you enjoy your day! We’re giving away a cornucopia of essentials that every Florida adventurer needs.
I don’t know about you, but I used to be one of those crazy kids who slathered on the Johnson’s Baby Oil and laid out in the sun for hours. Well, not anymore. . .even I have started wearing sunscreen. Last time we were in the Keys, we started hearing about reef-friendly sunscreen, and we’ve found a great one for you to try. Banana Boat Simply Protect Sport Sunscreen Spray, SPF 50+ (spray only, not the lotion), will protect you while not killing the coral polyps. This stuff is reasonably priced, reef-friendly, won’t leave you all greasy, and it’s really easy to find in grocery and drug stores. You can buy it here, or enter the contest and win it!
Anyone who spends much time outdoors in Florida has had to contend with mosquitoes and no-see-ums. And ticks. And chiggers. And fleas. Ugh. You need a good insect repellent to avoid them. Off! Family Care is formulated with DEET and is a dry formula that won’t leave your skin oily. We all grew up with Off!, and if you’re like me, the fragrance whisks you back in time to summer sleepaway camp. Ahhhhhhh . . . I just loved summer sleepaway camp! You can buy it here, or enter the contest and win it!
HYDRATE! You can’t be outdoors in Florida in this heat without keeping yourself hydrated! So you know we’re tossing a water bottle into the mix. Let’s see . . . what else will you need? How about some hand sanitizer, a couple of snack bars, and a rain poncho? Okay! You got it!
I’ve never been able to keep my stuff dry because I’m around water as much as is humanly possible, so I was really happy when I discovered personal dry bags. I use mine to keep my phone, car key, ID, and insurance card safely dry while I’m in my kayak or poking around a shoreline. I love this set of two by Freegrace because they can be work in several ways. You can wear it around your waist for easy paddling, or as a crossbody bag, or even a shoulder bag. The triple seal really works, too. And you know how I struggle to leave my phone alone . . . if I absolutely have to check it, the touchscreen can be uses through this bag! You can buy it here, or just enter the contest already!
Oh. Wait. You’re wondering how to carry all this swag . . . you know we’ve taken care of that, too! How about a set of three larger dry bags that are great for kayaking, camping, or car trips? You know the drill, right? You can buy it here, or enter the contest and win it!
